Pyramidal Architectures for Computer Vision (Advances in Computer Vision and Machine Intelligence)

Explains how to deal with the vast quantity of data required for computer vision by starting with a low spatial resolution (and therefore a small amount of data) and proceeding through successive refinements to the final verification of the results at the highest resolution available. Provides the groundwork for the architectural analysis described, surveys the actual machines and/or prototypes that can be called pyramidal, and discusses how to use programming tools such as languages and development tools to make a system easy for end users.
