Comanches : The History of a People

This history relates the politics and wars of the Nermernuh (The People), from prehistory to their defeat at the hands of the Anglo-American invaders. Primarily a history of conflict, the narrative explores the introduction of the horse into Comanche society, the encounters with the French and the Spaniards, and the wars that raged across the Southwest in the 1800s. This is a paperbound reprint of a 1974 work. Annotation (c) Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
