The Sherpa of Khumbu : People, Livestock, and Landscape

Based on extensive fieldwork, this study looks at animal management in Sagarmatha National Park in the context of Sherpa subsistence. It demonstrates the intricacy of human-land relationships, the adaptability of traditional people, and the problems of modifying traditional land-use practices.
