This, the 15th annual volume of the Index, contains data from public opinion polls in more than 180 countries and regions, including 18 countries in Eastern and Central Europe. Among the highlights of this volume are significant amounts of data on such topics as economic affairs, the environment, health and medicine, international relations, and social issues and problems. A new feature is a 50-year retrospective on Changing Opinions. Among the topics presented in multinational surveys are The Maastricht Treaty, NAFTA, the health of the planet, the police, and an Ibero-American barometer.
