Millennium-Studien / Millennium Studies120 : Imperium und Oikumene : Universale Horizonte und partikulare Kontexte in der hellenistisch-römischen Welt (Millennium-Studien / Millennium Studies)

In the Hellenistic-Roman world, communication exists within the tension between specific contexts and broader perspectives. Living environments are local in scale yet related to universal horizons. This creates problems for theoretical and empirical sciences, as well as for 'world empires' and 'world religions'. The contributions in this volume examine these issues from the perspective of various disciplines within classical studies.
