§15§El presente volumen reune las ponencias presentadas en el II Coloquio Internacional del Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos de la Universidad de Mainz en Germersheim (CELA) de junio de 1997. Los temas de las contribuciones corresponden a los intereses de investigación de los hispanistas del CELA y de sus invitados: historia de Colombia, Venezuela y del Caribe hispánico, identidad cultural y lingüística, lingüística afrohispánica, literatura colombiana y venezolana moderna. §16§The volume assembles the papers delivered at the International Colloquium of the Latin American Studies Center (CELA) of the University of Mainz at Germersheim in June 1997. The topics of the contributions mirror the research interests of the Spanish Studies scholars working at CELA and their guests: history of Colombia, Venezuela and the Spanish Caribbean; cultural and linguistic identity; Afro-Hispanic linguistics; modern Colombian and Venezuelan literature.
